I'm Joyce Isleta.

Before transitioning into UX design, I worked as a sales representative for six years. As I listened to feedback for the products that I intended to sell, I realized I wanted to create products and work on making them better for the people using them.

To learn how to build products, I immersed myself in UX coursework, articles, podcasts, and books. I’m most interested in design roles where I can design solutions to problems as a product designer and be creative with user interface interactions.

Life outside of design: I come from a big Filipino family and originally grew up in Hawaii. In my free time, I love watching competitive cooking shows, playing board games like Settlers of Catan, and babysitting my 3-year old nephew.

After 21 sessions with new designers, I wrote about how everything was formatted and my new insights on design learning disciplines.

While creating content for my social profiles with these challenges, Adobe XD's Twitter account took notice and also shared my work.

Years of working as a sales representative helped me gain soft skills that I can utilize daily as a product designer.
